...follow along as we travel the world

England

The last 10 days have been spent searching for a van and enjoying some much needed downtime after our whirlwind tour of Africa. We've been staying with family friends in southern England and it's been great having a house to stretch out and relax in.  We're starting to realize that 3-4 months of continuous traveling is about the limit before you need to take a week or so to just unwind and soak everything in.

We did manage to pull ourselves away from the house for a two day trip into London....a very interesting city.  Historic buildings everywhere, tons of pubs, and lots of tourists.

Now that we found the van that will be our home for the next four months we're ready to take off and explore again.  Tonight we'll take the Channel tunnel from England to France and start our European adventure.

Woo hoo! The S wagon! I like it. Now all it needs is a little flower power...and/or maybe some horns on the grill ;0)

We will be staying in Ruette, Austria at the Hotel Emberg on Sept 9 & 10 and at the Grunenberg in Menzenschwand, Germany (Black Forest area) Sept. 11-13. the nights before those we will be somewhere in Germany and the nights after will probably be somewhere in Austria (maybe Halstatt). We are staying at the Marriott in Munich Sept. 16 and flying home Sept. 17. If you are anywhere close it would be great to meet - but don't change plans for us. We were wondering, since you bought the van in England, which side is the steering wheel on?

That van looks a little too new for you guys, maybe you should reconsider.

John and Connie - We're not sure of our plans yet, but if we're in the area we'll definitely look you up.

Certainly looks quite a step up from your transport in NZ!!

We are heading to Europe on 19th Sept. I'll send you an e-mail with a rough itinerary to see if there is any chance of meeting up. Dee
