Singapore!!!!
For those of you out there who are still checking this blog (anyone???) to see how we're adjusting to the "real world", here's a quick update:
The last 4+ months have been a mix of searching for jobs , traveling around the US for interviews (Dustin), and visiting as much of our family and friends as we can. Upon returning from our trip we've continued the nomadic lifestyle; spending time in Grand Rapids with Rachel's family, in Ely and Central Minnesota with Dustin's family, in Alaska with Dustin's brother, in Oregon with Dustin's cousin, and in California visiting friends.
In between visiting everyone and searching for jobs, we have been taking full advantage of the beautiful Minnesota summer. We've been spending as much time as we can in the woods and on the water...doing more than our fair share of fishing, swimming, boating, canoeing, hiking, and camping. We're starting to remember just how great the Minnesota summers are...it's awfully hard to beat a nice summer day on the lake in Northern Minnesota.
Now on to the big news....We have decided to move to Singapore!!! Although we were mostly looking for jobs in Oregon and California, and Dustin even had a few job offers in each state, an opportunity with 3M Singapore came up that we couldn't pass up. Dustin will spend a month or so traveling between Taiwan and the US for training before we both move to Singapore in September. The combination of a great job for Dustin and the almost endless opportunities in the apparel industry for Rachel made Singapore too good to pass up.
Besides the job opportunities and being a very interesting place to live for a few years, Singapore will also provide us with the perfect home base to continue exploring Asia. A short, 1-3 hour flight will get us to Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bali, or any number of other interesting places in Southern Asia. We couldn't have planned a better way to ease back into the working world.
Anyone want to make a trip to Singapore??? We'll be looking for our first visitors...

You guys are crazy...and we love you for it. Thanks for coming to see us this week. I wish we would have had more time to visit, but at least we made time to fish! I'll have to send you the photos once I get them on the computer. Thanks for loving on the kids...they really love you two.

Here I thought we had a shot at getting you to move back to the cities...Doesn't look like there is any settling down in your near future!! We are living our own version of an adventure but it's more exciting reading about yours!
